Kiss Guilt Goodbye
The Struggle to Juggle Series: FINALE
If you are successfully balancing being a mom, wife, and having an outside job, don’t feel guilty. Be assured that you are accomplishing God’s will for your life.
Recognize the difference between true guilt and false guilt.
True Guilt comes when you are in disobedience to the Lord. As soon as you obey, the guilt goes away. False Guilt is a non-specific feeling of not measuring up, but you’re not exactly sure why.
Want to defeat that feeling of False Guilt? Get into God’s word every day.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ~ Isaiah 41:10
Your greatest weapon against guilt is God. God’s grace outweighs the enemy’s guilt every time.
And while these traits are all necessary to find BALANCE in our lives, none of it will be successful if we aren’t cultivating a deep and meaningful relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Are you spending time with him each day? Are you in his word? In prayer? Do you feel free to cast your burdens on him? Do you feel forgiven for your mistakes?
Draw closer to God. Let him carry you through those moments when the scales seem off balance and you think you might…just maybe…topple into the pit. Let him set you back on track and be your compass and your guide. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. ~ Matthew 6:33
Seek Him first. Make Him the priority of your life. Then place your family at the top of your earthly priorities. If you honor God and your family in this way, He will make your paths straight. He will guide you through this long and winding road of motherhood with the wisdom and love you need to do it…and do it well.
